This is a Facebook challenge that's making it's way around the world, and I thought it would be fun to add it here. Basically each day, for 30 days, I post a picture and random facts about my life. This is a great way to get to know me a little more, and it's going to be fun!
Day One: A Picture of Yourself and Ten Facts |
1. My name is Heather.
2. The guitar in this picture belongs to my roommate, Cara. (but I also play)
3. I took 6 months off of college to live in California.
4. I didn't have my first kiss until I was 19.
5. I wish it was warmer outside so I could go swimming.
6. I don't make up my bed unless I have company coming over.
7. I overthink most things.
8. I get really annoyed if I can't change my nail color every week.
9. I have a really hard time waking up in the morning.
10. After a long day, I hate cooking; but I do it anyway.
Day Two: The Person You've Been Closest to the Longest |
This lovely lady is my best friend, Briana. Neither one of us can remember the day we first met, but we've been pretty inseparable ever since that unknown day. She's one of those friends that you just pick up with no matter how long it's been. For about 10 years she's been that person who knows me the most.
I know many people who make fun of me for this, but Say Yes To The Dress is my favorite show. I've always been the romantic type and, like many other girls, have been dreaming about my wedding day since I was little. So most every day TLC plays this show and I smile with the brides and secretly hope they pick my favorite dress of those they try on. Yes, I'm a nerd. Fun fact: Last Friday night Briana (shown in the above picture) and I watched 3 hours of this show!
This is a picture of me singing the national anthem at a Jacksonville Jaguar football game. I've been singing for most of my life, so having the opportunity to sing in front of 60 thousand people was an incredible feeling, a wonderful dream come true, and one of my favorite memories.
Now, I'm not the biggest Taylor Swift fan, but if I could trade places with anyone for a day, it would be her. Let's face it, she's basically living my dream. If I could travel the world and play my music and have everyone sing along...I'd totally do it! Plus, she gets the greatest clothes. Really...what's not to love about that life style?
This is just one of the guitars I inherited from my grandfather almost 2 years ago. This one seen here is a black Stratacaster with gold trim and mother of pearl frets (and goreous!!) The other I got from him was a 1970's Les Paul. (!!!) I love the beauty in displaying guitars and playing them and I'm very proud to own an hierloom from my grandfather's past.

Day 7: A Picture That Makes You Laugh |
My sweet boyfriend refuses to take pictures, and you know how I am with cameras. I enjoy taking pictures of cake, so of course I love taking pictures with my love, but he hates it. So when I pull the camera out and extend my arm for a couple picture he usually makes a face like this. This particular picture was taken on the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World and makes me laugh because it reminds me I'm in love with a goof ball.
I know it's a little cliche, but these two people (my mom and dad) have gotten me through the most. They've sat through countless singing engagements, come to award ceremonies, helped me move to LA and are always there with a good meal. I love them a lot and couldn't have made it thus far without them.
Day 9: The person you do the craziest things with |
met David at a St. Patrick's day party last year during my time in L.A. I was crying over a glass of wine and he proclaimed that I didn't need to cry and that we should be friends. From then on David and I strutted through Los Angeles arm and arm, and he accompanied me on the crazist night of my life. It's a story for another day, but I'll never forget the night I celebrated my birthday on top the the W Hotel in Hollywood.
Day 10: Something You Hate |
I hate being sick! I'm usually far too busy to spend an entire day in bed so I push through colds and coughs hoping to be productive, which just makes me more sick. It just drags of for days and is quite annoying! Although, I usually get plenty of sympathy from my boyfriend, which isn't a bad thing.
