For about a year now, I've been on a vintage kick. Vintage jewelry, vintage clothing, vintage bags and frames and trinkets... Pretty much vintage anything. So I was thrilled when my mom gave me this vintage Chanel handbag. Now, fundamentally, this bag is great; it's a soft, off white leather, made in France, and very usable for an evening out. But to update it a little and make it more workable for me, I decided to fix it up.
I started by cleaning it up a bit. It was in good condition, but needed just a little TLC to really make it shine.
I decided to take the straps off and make the handbag a clutch. Both ends of the strap were held together with a gold button, nothing a pair of pliers couldn't take apart.
I wasn't a huge fan of the tassel hanging off the side, so I simply cut the leather strap holding it on.
So honestly, this was a very simple fix. With only a few minor adjustments, I now have a sweet little clutch I can use over and over again.
OH NO YOU DIDN'T!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! You cut up a Chanel?!?!?!?!? You removed the tassel!!!! AHHHHHHHH! Say it ain't so!!! Say it ain't so!!!
